The Impact You Will Have Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is seeking a skilled Healthcare Analyst to join our Provider Analytics team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business partners to extract and analyze data, gather reporting requirements, and build clear, actionable reports that support strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate brings three years of hands-on experience , strong proficiency in SQL , and working knowledge of Python and Power BI . You will contribute to analytics initiatives across a broad range of focus areas including provider performance (primary), health management, quality, product development, and client/member insights. As a key member of our analytics team, you will help enhance existing systems, support the development and testing of new analytical models, and transform business questions into meaningful, defensible results. You will collaborate with internal teams to clarify requirements, analyze complex datasets, and deliver insights that drive improved outcomes for our providers, members, and overall business strategy.

Requirements

3+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
1+ years experience using programming and statistical software (e.g., SAS), use of various databases and other data sources, and performing analytics.
Proficiency in Microsoft software applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.
Ability to perform and interpret statistical analyses.
Ability to evaluate and interpret data.
Strong problem solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and with an ability to interpret and communicate analytical information to individuals and groups with varying levels of analytics expertise.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team setting with individuals having diverse professional backgrounds including business, technical, and/or clinical.
High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree.
Experience with SQL, Power BI, and Python
Knowledge of managed care and health care claims preferred.

Responsibilities

Uses databases for analysis and dissemination of information.

Supports team to understand and interpret the impacts to cost and quality of proposals using relevant data sources and analytic methods.
May assist in the implementation of new products and systems by providing actionable information and recommendations that evaluate the impact of the proposed products and systems.
Assists with issues that may arise on multiple tasks or projects with limited management involvement.
Acts as a resource for other members of the department and company on business issues.
