About The Position

The Healthcare Access Specialist at Community Health Alliance plays a crucial role in supporting patient engagement and education regarding health insurance options. This position involves providing presentations to community partners, assisting individuals and families with enrollment opportunities, and maintaining collaborative relationships with community stakeholders. The specialist will also contribute to marketing efforts and participate in various organizational activities to enhance community health outcomes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local benefit programs and requirements.
• Experience in health insurance, medical eligibility, and/or medical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources and processes preferred.
• Experience in customer service and EMR preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information per HIPAA guidelines.
• Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with diverse populations.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of different health programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, PPO, HMO, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
• Experience in operating a personal computer utilizing word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and e-mail.
• Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of variables.

Responsibilities

• Support patient engagement and education regarding health insurance options.
• Provide educational presentations to community partners and stakeholders.
• Assist individuals and families with enrollment opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with community stakeholders.
• Participate in organizational activities and events as assigned by the Population Health Supervisor.
• Assist in the development and disbursement of marketing materials.
• Track and report on various population health management measures.
