About The Position

This is program analysis work at the full performance level with responsibility for planning, developing, monitoring, and evaluating programs administered by contracted agencies who provide public health services. Positions in the Behavioral Health & Intellectual Disability Services Specialty perform work in one of the following assignment areas: drug and alcohol addiction, mental health, intellectual disability services, or quality management and assurance. Positions in the HIV Diseases Specialty perform work in human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) public health programs. Positions in the Public health Specialty perform program planning, developing and monitoring work in the following areas: chronic disease prevention, maternal and infant health, nutrition and physical activity, tobacco control and youth wellness. Positions in the Police Department specialty are responsible for coordination and implementation of the Police Department's wellness programs to advance their departmental strategy and improve outcomes. Collaboration with department officials, central agency representatives for labor, an established resource agency network, and wellness and union officials are significant to the work. An employee in this class examines and reviews program proposals, reviews agency budget proposals, evaluates programmatic and operational activities for provider agencies, trains agency personnel to conform to new policies and procedures, and develops methodologies for collection of relevant information. Contact with officials of public and private agencies to gain insight and render assistance in improving existing services or developing new services is important to the work. Employees in this class report to an administrative superior.

Responsibilities
