About The Position

Johnson Venture Management Solutions, Inc. (JVM Solutions) is recruiting a Health Unit Driver to provide non-emergency patient transportation at Artesia, NM FLETC sites. The Driver transports students and patients to off-Center medical appointments, pharmacies, and other medical services using a Government-furnished vehicle (van or sedan). The Driver is also a member of the Emergency Medical Response Team and must maintain current AHA BLS certification at all times. A Contractor-provided cell phone is required for this position.

Requirements

  • Valid state driver's license with the correct endorsement for the vehicle size and type to be driven; license must be current, relevant, and verifiable at all times
  • Current AHA BLS Provider certification
  • Clean driving record; able to pass DHS background investigation
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to safely operate vans and sedans in diverse weather and road conditions
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
  • U.S. Citizen or alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence; DHS background investigation required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience transporting medical patients
  • Familiarity with the geographic area of the assigned site
  • First Aid or CPR training beyond BLS

Responsibilities

  • Transport students and patients to and from off-Center medical appointments, specialist visits, pharmacies, and other medical services as directed by clinical staff
  • Respond to emergency transport requests as part of the Emergency Medical Response Team when directed by the clinician in charge
  • Provide safe, professional, courteous transportation in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and FLETC policies
  • Prepare and submit a weekly transportation spreadsheet on the last training day of each week: student names, class name and number, type of specialist, and reason for referral (per Attachment 9 of the contract)
  • Operate and maintain the Government-furnished vehicle per FLETC vehicle policies; report damage or maintenance needs to the PM/Clinic Manager and COR
  • At Glynco: operate the Government-furnished electric golf cart as an emergency vehicle on campus
  • Maintain the Contractor-provided cell phone for immediate communication with health unit staff at all times
  • Report vehicle accidents to FLETC Security and CO/COR within one (1) hour of the incident
  • Complete FLETC Active Shooter Training and all required Government-provided training
  • Ensure Government-furnished vehicles are used ONLY for performance of Health Services Contract activities
