About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Technician at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This position is 56 hours per two weeks on the Night shift, 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend rotation. About this Position: Observes cardiac monitors, detecting and reporting abnormalities that may occur in the patients EKG status. Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements to achieve clinical, satisfaction and/or efficiency outcomes Observes the cardiac monitors and analyzes, records, and documents the rhythm status for each monitored patient Communicates information regarding rhythm status, problems, concerns, etc to the RN, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, as appropriate Participates in meeting unit goals and objectives Performs clerical duties as delegated by the Clinical Director or Charge Nurse

Requirements

  • At least 1 year experience of Transcription/Unit Coordinator experience required
  • Attention to Detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task
  • Computer Skills Basic: Ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (use a mouse, navigate in Windows, Outlook, etc)
  • Interpersonal Communication: Skilled in developing effective rapport with customers, co-workers, or families, actively listening to develop a positive connection
  • Organization: Effective management of projects, deadlines, and work load prioritizing; putting things together in an orderly and functional whole
  • Patient Care Delivery: Observes and collects pertinent data and/or clinical findings to enhance patient outcomes

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year EKG/Monitor Tech experience
