The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic is committed to providing the highest quality, expert care to women and birthing people with high-risk conditions. Our Maternal Fetal Medicine team provides comprehensive high-risk obstetric care, including preconception consultation, ultrasonography and advanced fetal imaging, perinatal diagnostics and fetal therapy, prenatal care and consultation, and delivery services. As a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), you will offer unparalleled customer service to patients, families and visitors to enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience. Using your administrative and clerical skills, you will ensure efficient operational flow of the department, allowing your fellow caregivers to continue providing optimal patient care. This position provides coverage between the Birthing Center and the High-Risk OB. A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in a customer service-related role
  • Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
  • Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
  • Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources.
  • Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
  • Handle various computer tasks, such as updating schedules and managing patient information.
  • Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
