About The Position

The Health Unit Coordinator/Emergency Department/Urgent Care Technician (HUC/ED/UCT) receives direction regarding work assignments from the Emergency Department (ED) Charge Nurse. The HUC/EDT performs direct and indirect patient care tasks and unit clerical duties to assist in the function of the medical team and to help meet patient and family needs during their time in the ED.

Requirements

  • Must have or has had a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, or Emergency Medical technician (EMT) awarded by the State of Wisconsin, or Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) program.
  • Must have or have had a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and license awarded by the State of Wisconsin as applicable.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
  • Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid. This is a condition of employment.
  • Employee must immediately notify his/her manager or the Health System's Compliance Officer if he/she is threatened with exclusion or becomes excluded from any federally funded program.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified nursing assistant (CNA) experience.
  • Experience working as a nursing assistant and unit/or coordinator in a hospital setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
