About The Position

A US assists in planning, organization, and implementation of the activities occurring at the nursing station by performing clerical duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. Some of the many skills performed Transcribe physician orders into MedAct Breakdown and reverse patient charts Stuff charts with blank progress notes and physician order sheets Place lab and xray reports on chart Place 24 hour summary and nursing documentation on chart Operate fax machine, copier, and printer and keep filled with paper Place phone calls to other facilities to arrange for patient transfer Documentation during Code Blue as needed Notify physicians and ancillary departments of consults Answer phones Greet visitors at desk Keep patient information confidential About Us Lake Guntersville, a mountain-lakes jewel, is located approximately 30 miles from metro Huntsville – and is home to Marshall Medical Centers. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
  • After orientation must demonstrate competence in the unit secretary clerical skills and knowledge required of the position
