About The Position

This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate strategic planning, delivery, and training for the Army Medical Home immunization department and staff members.
  • Develop plans to ensure a full range of services are provided for active duty service members, and beneficiaries.
  • Orient new personnel, as well as current military and civilian personnel who require additional training with immunizations, administration, regulations and policies.
  • Conduct weekly inspection and inventory of equipment and immunization supply.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
