About The Position

The incumbent will serve as a Health Systems Specialist (HSS) in the Office of the Director, supporting the executive functions of the medical center. The incumbent is relied upon for the review of information, data, proposals, and development of facts, which will be the foundation for the decision-making. In this capacity, the incumbent provides health systems management advisory services and input into complex management deliberations and decisions, together with a corresponding high level of responsibility to participate in identifying and resolving management problems. The HSS will assist in strategic planning and performing a variety of administrative management support functions, providing coordinating support, and guidance for Director's Executive Office. Duties include, but are not limited to: Joint planning, coordination, and negotiation with respect to policy analysis, management decisions, financial data, and the conduct of highly sensitive policy matters affecting CAVHCS. Develops and coordinates action plans. Participates in strategic planning conferences to include agenda development, preparation of conference materials, planning for conferences, and sending out conference information. Participate in site visits to include pulling data, preparing reports, and conducting the site visits. Participates in the development and implementation of both long- and short-term policies and plans for the health care delivery system. Manages special projects for major office or program issues of broad impact. Serves as medical center liaison for the Assistant Director. Development and implementation of internal policies, procedures, and programs concerning EEO, labor relations, merit promotion and personnel management fostering a commitment to these programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
