About The Position

Responsible for the day-to-day oversight and direction of the administrative operations of the Health Services Department (HS). Prepares correspondence, develops training manuals, flow processes and logs on departmental procedures. Writes and updates departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and URAC requirements. Compiles and maintains files in preparation of internal and state audits. Coordinates special projects, schedules, activities, etc., and channels information appropriately in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities, set goals and directives
  • Proficient in all phases of duties performed and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access
  • Proficient in researching state rules and regulations for creating policies and procedures
  • Three years of management/supervisory experience is required
  • Strong experience in health services administrative support functions required, preferably in a managed care environment
  • Proficient with pre-certification/fax server operations and the denial and appeal process
  • Experience managing large-scale fax server information data flow
  • Experience maintaining a departmental policy and procedure repository
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data collection and analysis, and designing reports, as demonstrated by work experience preferred
