Organization: Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehab Job Summary: The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), led by Principal Investigator Kristin Archer, PhD, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team. This full-time position supports multi-center, Department of Defense (DoD)-funded randomized clinical trials focused on advancing spine surgery outcomes. In this critical role, you will be responsible for enrolling and monitoring study participants undergoing spine surgery at VUMC, ensuring strict adherence to study protocols. Key responsibilities include: Managing and updating study protocols to maintain compliance. Leading Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, including initial submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews. Overseeing patient recruitment, enrollment, and follow-up. Facilitating ongoing collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI), spine surgeons, and rehabilitation providers to uphold protocol integrity. Organizing and leading weekly meetings with the PI, co-investigators, and study staff to review and report on study progress. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of clinical research experience and a strong commitment to advancing innovative healthcare solutions. In the VUMC Department of Orthopaedic surgery, each year we provide 110,000 outpatient visits and manage 11,500 surgical cases — all with a passion for equipping the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and for making a difference in the lives of the people we serve.
