About The Position

The Health Services Administrator (HSA) at VitalCore Health Strategies is responsible for overseeing the on-site health services department at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility. This role involves managing healthcare delivery, ensuring compliance with client contracts, and maintaining positive relationships with clients and staff. The HSA is also accountable for budget management, staff recruitment, and operational planning, making it a critical position in the correctional healthcare system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance.
  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred.

  • Experience in correctional healthcare settings.
  • Advanced certifications in healthcare management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the healthcare delivery system and coordinate with other functions within the facility.
  • Manage the budget and financial performance of the site.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports to supervisor and/or corporate office.
  • Develop and/or supervise the facility operational plan.
  • Direct the activities of the assigned staff.
  • Actively recruit new staff and arrange the interview process for potential staff.
  • Interface with VitalCore Human Resources for hiring and terminating site staff.
  • Manage labor to ensure the site is staffed according to contractual commitments and supervise staff scheduling.
  • Coordinate and participate in the interviewing and selection of Independent Contractors.
  • Ensure orientation of new VitalCore personnel by conducting or coordinating all initial new hire and annual orientation and training activities.
  • Ensure site utilization and compliance with all VitalCore and applicable client systems and applications.
  • Coordinate the Medical Audit Committee and facilitate monthly meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA and/or NCCHC standards and VitalCore clinical services and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Hospital Administrators and other external providers on the delivery of services at hospitals or other external health services locations outside the facility.
  • Negotiate third party contracts for the facility when appropriate.
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety and security policies and procedures and participate in and ensure compliance with applicable safety/emergency drills.
  • Follow and enforce all security regulations, including but not limited to keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
  • Ensure annual performance evaluations are conducted and completed with all personnel, including peer reviews.
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
