About The Position

The Health Services Administrator at MEDI KO is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of the medical unit within a correctional facility. This role involves managing a team, ensuring high-quality medical care for inmate patients, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The administrator will also engage with clients to meet their needs and enhance customer satisfaction while managing the financial performance of the medical unit.

Requirements

  • Active Unencumbered Registered Nurse License required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or Public Administration preferred.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Three (3) years of correctional health care experience required.
  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required.

Nice To Haves

  • Active, unencumbered state/commonwealth Nursing license (RN, LPN, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate operations of the medical unit(s) in the correctional facility for care and treatment of inmate patients.
  • Manage, mentor, and guide assigned team members.
  • Provide on-call coverage as needed, seven days a week.
  • Communicate proactively with clients to meet their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maximize customer retention by assessing and meeting service needs.
  • Coordinate total health care delivery system based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop staff through performance management including coaching and evaluations.
  • Create and maintain work schedules to meet contractual needs.
  • Prepare, analyze, and manage the financial performance of the site.
  • Report budget variances and clinical performance issues regularly.
  • Oversee preparation and maintenance of medical records and supplies.
  • Exercise discretion in decision-making processes regarding the medical unit.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the medical unit.
  • Coordinate multiple medical services for inmate patients as directed by the physician.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain health reviews.
  • Attend client leadership meetings and lead other committees as specified.
  • Communicate staffing needs and assist in recruiting quality candidates.
  • Ensure employee grievances are resolved and personnel records are accurate.
  • Maintain knowledge of facility safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with Infection Control Policies/Procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with all MEDIKO team members and facility contacts.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory and industry best practices and train team members accordingly.
  • Verify competency and status of assigned team members regarding training and licensure.
  • Drive quality assurance in all duties and functions.
  • Perform on-call duties as assigned.
