About The Position

Provide basic patient care and work with patients/clients to develop daily living skills. Location/Schedule: 60 Hwy 22 W, Suite A, Milledgeville, GA 12:00 AM- 08:00 AM - work 5 days per week with rotating weekends and off one day per week

Requirements

  • Ability to identify and report any adverse side effects of medication to physician.
  • Ability to identify patient limitations.
  • Knowledge of body mechanics (lifting, standing, turning, etc)
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for moving patients.
  • Ability to identify bedsores and the onset of bedsores.
  • Ability to monitor and report client’s behavior.
  • Ability to recognize significant changes in patient’s behavior.
  • Ability to perform CPR.
  • Ability to take patient vital signs.
  • Ability to assess client’s needs.
  • Knowledge of unit safety protocols.
  • Ability to collect bodily fluids.
  • Knowledge of the department, facility or service entity’s policies and procedures.
  • Ability to answer patient questions.
  • Ability to provide simple nursing care, personal care and hygiene.
  • Ability to explain procedures to patients.
  • Knowledge of simple nursing care, first-aid and personal and environmental hygiene.
  • Knowledge of the various types of appropriate recreational activities.
  • Ability to perform established treatment and programmatic activities.
  • Ability to check equipment to ensure it is working properly.
  • Knowledge of the concepts of mental health, health disorders and related physical conditions and treatment approaches.
  • Ability to lead activities.
  • Ability to document/report patient’s behavior accurately.
  • Knowledge of facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of care plans and diagnosis.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Takes vital signs and report findings to nurse.
  • Bathes, grooms, shaves and dresses clients if indicated.
  • Prepares clients for treatment or examination.
  • Feeds clients who are unable to feed themselves.
  • Provides clients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed and on the unit.
  • Transports and/or accompanies clients to unit areas, using a wheelchair if indicated.
  • Conducts activities for recreation and socialization.
  • Observes and documents patient data, behavior and activity.
  • Ensures safety and security of clients.
  • Drives company vehicle safely and updates Defensive Driving (if assigned).
  • Provides group training to clients educating on wellness and recovery tools (if assigned).
  • Assists with admission/discharge process as assigned.
