The Health Service Leadership Development Program (HSLDP) Summer Associate Internship at Cigna is a 10-week program designed to provide participants with a unique opportunity to impact the business within the health service sector. This program is part of Cigna's commitment to enhancing the lives of clients, customers, and patients through its healthcare services. As a Summer Associate, you will engage in a variety of practical experiences that will help you build a solid foundation for a career in healthcare. This includes exposure to key stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem, client and customer interactions, and the navigation of global markets. You will also have the chance to lead major projects and initiatives, support mergers and acquisitions through special projects, and more. Throughout the program, Summer Associates will be assigned to a business function that aligns with Cigna's growth strategy, allowing you to develop your business acumen and leadership skills. You will work closely with a current HSLDP Full-time Associate who will serve as your mentor, providing guidance and support throughout your internship. Additionally, you will have opportunities to interact with Cigna's executive and senior leaders in smaller, targeted forums, enhancing your networking and presentation skills. The HSLDP summer experience includes a challenging project assignment in one of Cigna's key business areas, experiential learning opportunities, an executive speaker series, group projects, and offsite immersion experiences. Leadership development is emphasized through Cigna's competency-based assessment model, and you will be part of a supportive and collaborative community of peers. Community outreach and charitable events are also integral to the program, allowing you to contribute positively to society. This internship serves as the primary pathway to becoming a Full-time HSLDP Associate, with selected Summer Associates participating in 3-4 customized rotational assignments lasting 18-24 months post-graduation, aligned with Cigna's growth strategy and personal development goals.
