About The Position

The Health & Safety Manager at Legrand North America is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations. This role involves conducting training, performing safety inspections, and maintaining safety equipment inventory. The manager will also collaborate with various departments to promote a safe working environment and address health and safety hazards proactively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety or Engineering with a focus in Occupational Safety.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in heavily regulated industries in a managerial role.
  • CPR Certification and EHS knowledge.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal fabrication, automotive, or chemical industries.
  • Proficiency in delivering safety topics to large audiences.
  • Ability to influence without authority.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs and policies.
  • Conduct training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.
  • Perform periodic safety inspections and maintain safety equipment inventory.
  • Monitor environmental compliance and liaise with regulatory agencies.
  • Alert leadership to health and safety hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Direct H&S projects and manage technical performance to meet EHS objectives.
  • Promote compliance with federal, state, local, and company EHS policies and regulations.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret safety statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
  • Lead and develop the H&S team and manage Safety Committee activities.
  • Support onboarding and orientation safety training.
