The Manager, Health & Safety will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Regional Safety Managers (RSMs) to ensure implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of safety programs across multiple facilities within their respective regions. This position will develop and drive safety initiatives that reduce risk, enhance employee safety, and foster a culture of safety excellence. The Manager, Health & Safety will work closely with the EHS program development and systems assurance personnel, corporate leadership, and operations management to ensure alignment with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to Regional Safety Managers, ensuring consistent implementation of safety policies and programs across all locations.
  • Develop and mentor the RSM team to improve their effectiveness in managing site-level safety programs.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support career development initiatives for RSMs.
  • Oversee the implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with operations leaders to integrate safety practices into daily business processes.
  • Identify emerging safety trends and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks.
  • Lead incident investigations and mentor RSM team members on investigations.
  • Lead serious injury and fatality (SIF) prevention initiatives.
  • Ensure timely reporting and thorough investigation of safety incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions.
  • Work with RSMs to implement corrective and preventive measures to reduce workplace hazards.
  • Track and analyze key safety performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance across all regions, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws.
  • Conduct regular audits and safety inspections to assess compliance, identify risks, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper recordkeeping and documentation to support regulatory inspections and reporting requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive safety experience in a multi-site manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of human organizational performance (HOP)/safety differently/safety 2 concepts.
  • Training on incident investigations including root cause analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience leading a team of safety professionals, preferably in a regional or national capacity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence change.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as needed to support regional safety initiatives.
  • 5+ years safety leadership leading a team of safety professionals in a regional or national capacity.
  • CSP, NFPA or other relevant safety certifications.
  • PowerBI or relevant data visualization software tools.
