Allan Myers is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and driven Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our elite team of professionals working on significant and exciting heavy civil construction projects. In this role, you will lead the overall job site safety program and set the tone for an incident and injury-free work environment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate, federal, and state HSE policies, which is critical to maintaining our high standards of safety and quality in our projects. As the HSE Manager, you will conduct site observations for safety compliance and behavior-based inspections, perform incident investigations, and adhere to company policies. You will assist the Operations Team by pre-planning safety into all situations through risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and identifying hazards while implementing necessary controls. Your role will also involve preparing and providing training documentation and materials to ensure that worksites have the required OSHA, MSHA, and DOT documentation in place, including HazCom, rigging, cranes, excavation, scaffolds, and more. You will recognize loss exposure to the project by utilizing HSE risk management techniques and apply innovative methods for managing risk exposure. Additionally, you will conduct Subcontractor Safe starts and assist the project team in overseeing subcontractor safety compliance and performance. You will develop and oversee all OSHA and MSHA inspections and related training, as well as new hire orientation. Providing safety expertise to the Project Team and job site support will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will analyze and review the safety culture at Allan Myers and suggest changes to establish proactive and desirable behaviors aligned with our core values. This position requires extensive travel to and from field sites, and you will be responsible for operating a company vehicle (Ford F-150).
