About The Position

We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environment Leader - Low Complexity to join our team specializing in Health and Safety in Henderson, CO. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Build trusted, cross‑functional relationships to clarify roles and responsibilities and drive enterprise‑wide ownership of a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture. Engage employees at all levels by ensuring meaningful consultation and participation in the development and implementation of HSE programs, policies, and procedures. Lead hazard identification, environmental aspect identification, and risk assessment processes to proactively identify compliance gaps and strategic risk‑reduction opportunities. Establish clear HSE targets and objectives for the site, translating plans into executable actions and actively supervising progress through completion. Strengthen site capability by delivering effective training, skills development, and internal communication models that support consistent HSE execution. Develop, maintain, and govern controlled HSE support content that is current, accessible, and compliant with document control and data privacy requirements. Provide visible day‑to‑day leadership of HSE operations, supporting compliance, incident investigation, contractor safety, management of change, emergency preparedness, and environmental sustainability initiatives. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing HSE performance data, compliance findings, and audit results to deliver risk‑based, data‑driven improvements aligned with Cummins management system and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.
  • Intermediate level of experience required, including experience in management of health, safety and environmental ISO Standards required.
  • Basic regulatory standard knowledge/understanding, including but not limited to OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, etc.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an HSE related role or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred.
  • Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
  • Minimal management experience preferred.

  • Execute high‑quality HSE incident investigations using evidence‑based root cause analysis to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions and prevent repeat incidents.
  • Maintain and continuously improve HSE management systems by interpreting and applying international standards in a practical way that supports certification, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Influence and strengthen HSE culture by modeling positive behaviors and engaging leaders and employees to reinforce shared ownership of health, safety, and environmental outcomes.
  • Leverage data and risk assessment expertise by establishing meaningful KPIs, analyzing performance trends, prioritizing hazards, and applying controls to reduce risk as low as reasonably practicable while protecting employees and the environment.
  • Manage work‑related injuries and illnesses effectively by ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and compassionate case management focused on employee recovery and return to work.
