The Environmental Engineering and Consulting team delivers solutions for complex environmental challenges using our regulatory expertise and implementing practical and cost-effective compliance management processes and programs. We address our clients’ biggest concerns around permitting, ecoservices, assessment, and remediation. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Associate Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Studies (required)
  • 0+ years of experience in area of expertise
  • Ability to write technical documents including but not limited to reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Demonstrated proficiency with applicable equipment (i.e., computer devices) and software systems (e.g., Excel, HMMS, Filemaker)
  • Employee must be able to successfully pass client background check requirements applicable to the client's site
  • This position requires the ability to successfully pass an FBI background check

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Hazardous Material Shelf-Life Program with the goal of minimizing expired shelf-life waste streams
  • Participating in the process and utilization improvements of the free-issue HM program, aimed at promoting the beneficial reuse of HM as a diversion of hazardous waste streams
  • Administrating the Hazardous Material Management System (HMMS) application to meet site-specific requirements; developing system configurations, users, material flow, and hazardous waste oversight as it pertains to HMMS
  • Developing and conducting site-specific training to mirror HMMS use with installation business practices
  • Conducting periodic inventories/inspections of HM at designated storage locations and complete assessments, plans/procedure development, training, data management, etc.
  • Communicating with environmental program managers to facilitate extraction and validation of data from the HMMS application to develop periodic environmental reports
  • A general understanding of evaluating the current and proposed codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines to determine the impact on client current and future programs and activities
  • Interpret data and observations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines and advises management/clientele accordingly
  • Interface with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met
  • Maintain HMMS solutions for complex client regulatory programs
  • Maintains project-related equipment in a state of readiness
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues
  • Communicate project issues relating to corporate policy and procedures to the appropriate staff
  • Build positive client relations through effective communication and project coordination by working effectively with MES and the client in both independent and team settings
