About The Position

The 2025 - 2026 KP Internship is scheduled to start as soon as possible and last for 12 months. This internship role is flexible, requiring part of the time to be spent working remotely and part of the time at 1730 Minor Ave, Suite 1300, Seattle, WA 98101. The Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI) is a public-interest research center that produces timely findings to help people stay healthy and receive necessary care. The intern will work on a project testing a culturally adapted physical activity promotion program for older Latino/a and Hispanic adults to improve brain health. The intern will conduct phone-based health coaching and must be fully bilingual in Spanish and English. Each participant will receive six coaching calls over a 12-week period, and the intern will be trained in health behavior coaching by the Principal Investigator.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled or has completed a masters or graduate level program in health, business administration, or law (juris doctorate).
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Communication, project management, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Computer skills in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to take initiative in creating a comprehensive leadership development plan.
  • Ability to handle high stress, multiple tasks, complex issues, conflicting demands and confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the health care or health insurance industry.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and/or manage elements of an assigned smaller project in support of organizational goals.
  • Engage in project planning, developing goals & objectives, research, creating a work plan & decision criteria, project management, team facilitation, and financial & market feasibility analysis.
  • Identify & provide input on process changes and improvements to enhance performance across projects.
  • Document all project requirements and/or objectives properly.
  • Develop reports & recommendations and communicate plans via written & oral presentations to project sponsors and stakeholder groups.
  • Function as an interface/liaison across organizational structures to facilitate coordinated strategies.
