About The Position

The Health Program Specialist 1 position involves planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating health services and activities within the Division of Public and Behavioral Health. The role focuses on coordinating and implementing Designated Mobile Crisis Teams (DMCT) as part of the 988 Crisis Continuum of Care, which includes developing best practices, assessing geographic needs, and collaborating with local partners. The specialist will also oversee contracts, provide technical support, and work with Medicaid to educate and recruit providers for billable Crisis Services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public health, health science, social or behavioral science, or a closely related field and two years of professional health-related experience.
• Experience must include researching, collecting and analyzing data, developing objectives, providing health education services, evaluating program effectiveness, or providing prevention and treatment services.
• Alternatively, an Associate's degree with three years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with four years of relevant experience may qualify.
• One year of experience as a Health Program Specialist Trainee II in Nevada State service may also qualify.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate health services and activities.
• Develop goals, objectives, program requirements, and procedures.
• Provide technical information regarding specialized health-related conditions.
• Participate and provide support to various committees, advisory boards, and other work groups.
• Coordinate and implement Designated Mobile Crisis Teams (DMCT).
• Develop best practices and assess geographic needs for DMCTs.
• Collaborate with local partners to establish DMCTs as part of the 988 Crisis Continuum of Care.
• Oversee contracts and provide technical support for crisis services.
• Work with Medicaid to educate and recruit providers for billable Crisis Services.
