About The Position

Adjunct positions available to teach of HIT 120: Medical terminology and HPR 101: Intro to Health Professions. Courses to be offered on OCC main campus during day and evening hours. Major responsibilities include:

Prepare and present lectures.
Meet with students as needed to answer questions.
Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner.
Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams.
Compute grades and submit them on time.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in health care field with two (2) years' work experience in a health-related field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency.
• Active health-related license, credential or certification - (must provide copy of license/certificate or credential for consideration).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency
• Prior experience teaching college level courses.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.

Benefits

• Adjunct rate of pay for the 25/26 academic year is $1,483/credit hour.
• Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
