About The Position

BerryDunn is seeking a Health Policy Senior Consultant with at least five years of experience in health policy and a solid understanding of both commercial health insurance and Medicaid to join our Healthcare Analytics Practice Group. You’ll be part of a collaborative team working on meaningful health policy projects that help shape how care is delivered and financed. In this role, you’ll dive into project work such as: Analyzing health policy and translating complex findings into clear, useful insights for legislators, agency leaders, and other decision-makers. Supporting, and sometimes leading, projects focused on proposed healthcare legislation. Working closely with clients to develop strategies that use data to improve how health systems serve people. Creating well-written policy reports, presentations, and technical documents that speak to a range of audiences. This position is planned to sit remotely to support client work in Portland, Maine. You will report to Health Policy Analysis (HPA) principal in the Health Analytics Practice Group.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in health policy, public health, or related subject areas
  • A minimum of five years of experience working in healthcare policy-related content areas
  • A strong, demonstrated track record of outstanding written output, documented with writing samples
  • Experience working with technical staff and coordinating development of reports and similar work products

Responsibilities

  • Work with client leadership, BerryDunn economists, and actuaries to determine analytical strategies necessary to answer key policy questions
  • Research and master specific details relevant to projects of federal, state, and private health care programs; this may include review of statutes and regulations
  • Research a wide range of health care policy and related issues, including specific clinical subject areas to understand care delivery and technology
  • Identify data sources that may be used to analyze specific questions
  • Work with technical programming staff to specify data analyses
  • Work with actuaries to translate policy analysis into cost measurement
  • Interpret results as they address policy questions
  • Draft reports summarizing all of the above with clear, precise, outstanding writing
