About The Position

The Health Physics Technician will perform various functions in the Lab to support Radioactive License demands. This role involves ongoing usage of various monitoring devices to monitor radiation and contamination, including handheld devices and an alpha/beta counting system to assess the plant for radioactive counts. The technician will also monitor air and water treatment systems, use smears to monitor for radioactive contamination, perform various testing procedures of samples to analyze the type and level of radiation of each container, and repair or calibrate automated laundry monitors as necessary.

Requirements

• Computer proficient: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
• Employee must have achieved at least a 'Meets Requirements' classification in his/her most recent performance evaluation.
• Not presently (within the last 6 months) involved in the Progressive Discipline Procedure.
• Two year Associate Degree or commensurate experience.
