General Description The Health Physicist is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation programs at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), which includes its Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) materials license and use of radioactive material, ionizing-radiation producing equipment, and laser, UV, and RF systems. This role is multi-faceted and involves non-ionizing radiation safety program management, problem solving, consultation and technical support, conducting feasibility studies, database management, and supporting the Senior Health Physicist in managing the ionizing radiation safety program operations. The Health Physicist will work closely other occupational health personnel to support the overall health and safety program.
