The Cypress College Health Information Technology (HIT) program is looking for an experienced, flexible, engaging individual with an RHIT or RHIA to join our staff as an Adjunct faculty member. We are a hybrid program with both day and evening on-campus courses and online opportunities. Ability to work days and/or evenings in a hybrid program. Some classes will be taught on campus and online. Full online schedules available.

  • Teach Health Information Technology courses in a hybrid format.
  • Engage with students in both on-campus and online settings.
  • Modify assignments and duties as per operational needs.
  • Any Bachelor's degree or higher AND two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
  • OR Any Associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
  • Current Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
  • Knowledge of legal aspects, statistics, technology, pharmacology, revenue cycle management, ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • Experience with distance education and Canvas learning module.
  • Ability to support equitable outcomes and success for all students.
  • Salary Range: $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lecture unit rate.
  • Salary Range: $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lab parity unit rate.
  • Salary Range: $1113.42 - $1221.77 per lab unit rate.
