About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the health information system to comply with medical, legal and ethical standards. The role ensures the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of medical records while providing technical support and training to staff.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in health information technology or related field.
Experience with health information systems required.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional IT team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and external providers.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards preferred.
Familiarity with MDHHS reporting requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide help desk support and technical assistance to end users.
Assist in coordination of electronic record-keeping workflows to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and security.
Monitor and troubleshoot health information software systems.
Train staff on the use of computers and information systems.
Develop and update user training materials and tutorials.
Log, track, and escalate system issues and outages.
Assist with healthcare integration projects as needed.
Coordinate with electronic health record vendor.
Support the IT team and other agency applications as required.
Generate reports upon request.
Monitor and manage user access controls.
Support MDHHS platforms per contract requirements.
Participates in agency meetings and committees as assigned.
Complete required training and continuing education.
Perform additional duties as assigned in a cooperative and positive manner.
