About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in Health Information Services or related field.
  • Proficient computer and keyboarding skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to safeguard protected health information (PHI) and knowledge of HIPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the content of the medical record for missing documentation and signatures according to regulations.
  • Serve as point of contact for record completion support for clinicians and other providers.
  • Apply knowledge of medical terminology to identify documentation needs.
  • Assign, edit, and track medical record deficiencies in the chart management system.
  • Provide support and education to clinicians regarding record completion activities.
  • Verify accuracy of physician deficiency and suspension status in the chart management system.
  • Support Revenue Cycle by analyzing missing documentation elements.
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify system issues and provide educational opportunities.
  • Receive, collect, sort, prepare, and scan clinical documentation into the EHR.
  • Utilize medical terminology to classify clinical documentation accurately.
  • Perform quality assurance checks of scanned images.
  • Accurately abstract patient information into the EHR.
  • Complete timely error correction and notify leadership for quality review.
  • Assist patients and visitors in person or via telephone.
  • Operate office equipment and perform routine maintenance.
