What You’ll Do: As a Health Information Representative , you’ll play an important role in supporting patient care by managing and protecting health records with accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (previous office or healthcare experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of information accurately.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills , with a helpful and professional demeanor.
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Process, organize, and distribute patient information from multiple sources, including mail, fax, and internal systems.
  • Maintain timely and accurate health records through scanning, filing, and documentation management.
  • Handle patient requests for medical records and assist with authorizations, disclosures, and HIPAA-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with providers and departments to complete and track medical forms such as FMLA, disability paperwork, and health appraisals.
  • Support patients in accessing and navigating the patient portal.
  • Ensure compliance with all medical, legal, and ethical record-keeping standards.
  • Participate in closing the loop on referrals and diagnostic orders by maintaining accurate records and communication between departments.
