In this position, you will be responsible for managing a large number of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner. Your primary goal is to provide excellent customer service, resolve customer inquiries, and ensure customer satisfaction. This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 3:00pm - 11:30pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. If you are located in the states of Minnesota or Wisconsin, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.

  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information
  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests
  • Manages requests for documentation and information
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems
  • May train and mentor co-workers
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of Customer Service experience within a hospital OR healthcare environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to train for the first 4 weeks between 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, during our normal business hours of 3:00pm - 11:30pm CST, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime, based on the business need
  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Health Information Management (HIM) experience
  • Experience working within the health care industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Previous experience communicating with patients and staff with various educational and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • Knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clients
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to travel between local healthcare facilities
