A Health Information Management Clerk who excels in this role:

A Health Information Management Clerk assists requesters with access to
protected health information. Responds to requests for medical information by
performing duties in accordance with established hospital and departmental
policy and federal laws.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Computer skills and knowledge of computer software required
• Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department
• Ability to problem-solve effectively and handle stress in a positive manner
• Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital departments

Responsibilities

• Assists requesters with access to protected health information.
• Responds to requests for medical information by performing duties in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and federal laws.
