About The Position

And our work depends on a Customer Service Specialist joining our team to support the VAERS program (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) VAERS is a national early warning system to detect possible safety problems in U.S.-licensed vaccines. This is a home based position; strong preference to candidates in the MD/DC area; qualified candidates in other locations will be considered.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma Required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Case management or health office related experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Comfortable using computer technology: Proficient in Word; Experience working in Excel
  • 3 + years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Call Center experience a plus
  • Medical Records management
  • Case management
  • Associates degree and/or college coursework a plus.
  • Strong multitasking abilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support clinical follow up activities by requesting missing case information (information, medical records) via phone, fax, mail, and/or email
  • Answer inbound calls and emails addressing requests for general information and material requests. Process materials requests as needed (fax, email, mail)
  • Document status of activities on the system received for accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with other staff working on the case to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete tasks per designated deadlines
  • Available to work afternoon-night hours
