LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry, department of Prosthodontics is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Health Information Coordinator 1 or 2. Position-Specific Details: Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Health Information Coordinator 1, or 2 based on the qualifications of the selected applicant. There is a rate of $16.06 for the HIC2 and $15.01 for the HIC1 per hour for this title. Pay is dependent upon applicants' qualifications. There is an additional $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked only. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Schedules patients and coordinates follow-up appointments for Prosthodontic residents and fellows.
  • Initiates communication between all departments, students, and patients via phone calls, e-mail or written correspondence.
  • Maintains list of referred patients and documents patient assignments.
  • Monitors chart entries in electronic health record and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Acquires all patient information including medical and financial data and enters that information on computer for the maintenance of clinical records.
  • Position requires communication with other departments for the purpose of entering pertinent information into departmental databases.
  • Completes patient applications for Smart Care loans through Campus Federal.
