Applies management and health informatics principles for the coordination of all health informatics activities for a team, in support of quality in patient care, health care transformation and establishment of best practices. As a converging point person for people, process, and technology, the Manager, Health Informatics has a leadership role in transforming clinical care, maximizing the benefits of health information technology within TH. Serves as a key contributor working in collaboration with health care professionals on enterprise-wide health informatics projects. Collaborates with Health Informatics leadership to guide and coordinate the standardization and adoption of evidenced-based processes and content across the care continuum. Leverages health information technology, including clinical decision support, as well as process improvement tools, project management and communication skills to enable improvements in experiences for patients and clinicians. Coordinates health informatics initiatives and leads multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes and adoption of new processes and content across the care continuum for the enterprise. Communicates findings and provides recommendations to Health Informatics leadership ensuring effective, efficient consistent delivery for health care transformation for the enterprise. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision and Values in behaviors, practices and decisions. 2. Manages the activities of the Health Informatics team. Mentors, coaches and leads staff by providing performance assessment and feedback and advising on professional development and quality performance. Provides informal coaching, mentoring and guidance relating to Health Informatics matters, as appropriate. 3. Collaborates with Director and/or Medical Director in supporting the organizational mission, vision and goals. Provides strategic support for the integration of clinical and business services in the context of health informatics and the application / utilization of clinical / business information systems. 4. Collaborates with colleagues, care providers and business operations to establish standards of care, procedures, utilizing evidence, quality indicators, regulatory requirements, and cost and performance data to guide decision making across multiple health information technology platforms. 5. Facilitates health information technology solutions that bring evidence-based care standards and care delivery models to the system thus reducing clinical variation, unwarranted clinical variation and improving business and operational performance. Frames the implementation strategies to be operationally effective to achieve desired performance. 6. Applies knowledge, data, information and workflow in the development of evidence-based models for health information technology solutions. 7. Utilizes data to identify opportunities for clinical variation, understands graphical representations of data, and applies project-oriented expertise in identifying leading and lagging metrics for implementation effectiveness, and data plans. Demonstrates data-driven approach for project prioritization and strategies. 8. Improves the quality and effectiveness of the enterprises overall health care initiatives by providing leadership and operational direction over the health informatics programs. 9. Serves as an expert to communicate health informatics trends and issues at enterprise levels of the TH organization. 10. Develops and executes corrective approaches in collaboration with organizational resources identified problem areas. Reviews data for opportunities for improvement and works collaboratively with other colleagues to develop and execute action plans. 11. Leads interdisciplinary functional groups that design, implement, enhance and establish outcomes. Supervises other team members in group facilitation. Supervises and manages a team of health informatics specialists working within areas of assigned responsibility. 12. Establishes priorities that align with organizational initiatives. Manages multiple projects simultaneously and adapts to frequent changes in priority. Manages teams to consensus decisions that support organizational objectives. 13. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior
