About The Position

The Health Equity Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting a framework to enhance the capacity of the Marion County Public Health Department (MCPHD) to operate with health and racial equity as guiding principles. This role aims to ensure that health outcomes in Marion County are not determined by race, class, gender, income, or other group status. The coordinator will work on creating measurable equity goals, assessing progress, and building relationships to advance racial equity initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (required)
• Master's degree in public health, public policy, nursing, health education or related field (preferred)
• Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience related to public health, health policy, health education and/or health and racial equity.

Responsibilities

• Build, direct, manage, and ensure implementation and effectiveness of the MCPHD's Health and Racial Equity (HRE) plan that results in measurable positive results.
• Lead processes to continuously increase integration of health and racial equity strategies into organizational systems.
• Research and design appropriate organization-wide professional development and training.
• Develop and/or coordinate health and racial equity capacity building opportunities for all levels of management and employees.
• Establish continuous health and racial equity efforts and impacts.
• Assist in planning and facilitating health and racial equity projects from start to finish, including training and technical assistance methods, tools, and materials.
