About The Position

Are you ready to make a measurable improvement in health equity? We’re seeking a public health professional to project manage high-visibility, critical initiatives that remove barriers to dental care. In this role, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement health promotion strategies with Delta Dental members using data to set goals and measure progress. Additionally, you will research relevant public policy and communicate implications to our mission and business. This role is part project manager and part analyst, working across our mission, sales, and public policy teams. The pay range for this position In Western Washington varies between $70,900.00 - $106,300.00. Washington Dental Service and its affiliates, including Arcora Foundation, Delta Dental of Washington, and TriForza Corp. intends to offer the selected candidate a base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay will also be adjusted based on the candidate's geographic location.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) and five years of experience organizing health promotion initiatives that increase access to healthcare and promote positive health outcomes. Oral health experience and health carrier experience is a plus.
  • Acumen interpreting and utilizing data, quantitative and qualitative including community expertise, to identify healthcare gaps, co-create interventions and measure progress.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting local, state, and/or federal healthcare policy.
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Ability to look beyond symptoms to find the core issue.
  • Critical Thinking: Evaluating information objectively to make reasoned judgments.
  • Adaptability: Remaining calm and effective when project goals or environments shift unexpectedly.
  • Inquisitiveness: A natural curiosity to ask "why" and dig deeper into systems.
  • Experience working on cross-team collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Oral health experience and health carrier experience is a plus.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting local, state, and/or federal healthcare policy is a plus.
  • Proficiency in languages additional to English is a plus as it supports engagement across the multitude of communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage highly critical initiatives with employer groups to reduce equity gaps in preventive dental utilization among their employees: In collaboration with client managers, recruit employer groups to participate.
  • Using internal and external data, identify equity gaps.
  • Based on equity data, collaboration with employer groups to select subgroups of focus, establish baseline data, and set targets.
  • Conduct additional data collection, including qualitative, as needed to understand perspectives and experiences of employees.
  • Advise client managers on potential changes to employer benefits plans to incentivize preventive utilization.
  • Co-create and offer interventions with group employers to address equity gaps, including worksite dental care, employee education campaigns, and provider matching.
  • Measure progress and make adjustments as needed to achieve goals.
  • Research and summarize federal, state, and local public policies, regulations, and legislative proposals to inform our policy agenda.
  • Track and develop progress reports for relevant legislative proposals during the state legislative and federal congressional sessions, and with key regulatory agencies.
  • Support the development of talking points and other messaging materials for use in engaging internal and external stakeholders on policy topics.
  • Assist with our campaign contributions process.
  • Assist with monitoring Delta Dental Plans Association policy and advocacy discourse, as well as those of other oral health organizations or forums.
