About The Position

As the Health Engineer 1 , you’ll help ensure our applications are reliable, performant, and available—using monitoring, automation, and data-driven insights to make a real impact. Day to day, you’ll independently deliver small features and fixes from backlog to “done,” triage issues, and participate in technical design with guidance. You’ll communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, prioritize effectively, and know when to ask for help to stay unblocked. What’s most exciting? You’ll work on mission ‑ critical systems, reduce detection and resolution times, and grow into deeper expertise while mentoring new teammates.

Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or coding bootcamp/code school OR equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non ‑ technical audiences with minimal context.
  • Ability to own a story/tactical task end ‑ to ‑ end to the team’s accepted “Definition of Done.”
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and willingness to ask for help to unblock work

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Designs and maintains dashboards and reports using industry ‑ standard tools.
  • Builds and monitors data ingestion pipelines; assists in optimizing queries and storage for performance.
  • Shares insights on data storytelling and participates in engineering communities of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Independently complete small, somewhat ambiguously defined features and fix defects end ‑ to ‑ end.
  • Take stories/tactical tasks from backlog to accepted “Definition of Done” (merged PR or production deploy).
  • Participate in technical design with guidance and propose automation to reduce workload.
  • Triage simple issues independently and complex issues with assistance, prioritizing effectively and asking for help when needed.
  • Improve reliability and availability using monitoring/observability learnings, and help troubleshoot production incidents to drive down detection and resolution times.
