The Health Educator will work with the CAPP (Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention) Program serving parents and youth between the ages of 10-21. The CAPP program provides comprehensive adolescent health education and ensures access to health care and family planning services as needed. The Health Educator will also deliver evidenced-based school programming in the Peekskill and Yonkers communities targeting parents with the goal of improving parent-child communication to support the development of positive health behaviors among youth. The Health Educator will help parents obtain the skills needed to support effective parent-child communication related to sexual health topics including alternatives to sexual activity, family planning and to develop skills that will support the adolescent's successful transition into healthy young adulthood.
