About The Position

Health Educator Lead – FEP Location: This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, except for required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development. The Health Educator Lead is responsible for leading a team who receives and/or places calls to members and through counseling encourages members with chronic health conditions, who have failed to respond to previous efforts, to enroll and participate in the appropriate disease management program.

Requirements

  • Requires BA/BS in appropriate field of specialization and minimum of 5 years of related experience in direct care, health education, exercise instruction or patient education; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in health coaching, disease management in a call center environment and/or patient education and behavior change techniques and strong understanding of disease management principles is preferred.
  • Certification or advanced certification and/or license appropriate to field of specialty preferred.
  • MS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with complex member calls and supports associates on difficult member calls.
  • Monitors and evaluates member calls.
  • Interfaces with health professionals regarding care alert messaging.
  • Serves as knowledge and resource expert for the team and the department.
  • Reviews and audits member records.
  • Serve as mentor for orientation and training of new staff.
  • May act as department representative in collaboration with others to meet shared goals.
  • Prepares and presents in-services to the team.
  • Assists management with day-to-day functional leadership activities of the team.
