About The Position

The Utah County Health Department seeks to prevent avoidable disease and injury and promote health by monitoring the health of the community and assuring conditions in which people can be healthy. Under direct leadership of the assigned supervisor, assists, develops, designs, monitors, coordinates, evaluates, and administers health education and prevention activities in Utah County. Performs clerical, technical, and entry-level professional work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a closely related field.
• Two (2) years of work experience in public health or a related field.
• Eligibility to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and/or obtain a Certificate in Public Health (CPH).

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Completed related master's degree may substitute for two (2) years of health education work experience.
• Completion of Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) within the probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and designing health education and prevention activities.

• Coordinate health education initiatives.
• Perform clerical and technical tasks related to health education.
