About The Position

The Amazon Health Services (AHS) organization is building the future of healthcare at Amazon, bringing together Amazon Pharmacy, One Medical, and other health initiatives to deliver a seamless, customer-centric healthcare experience. Within AHS, the Health Store and Tech (HST) team's mission is to unify the healthcare experience through shared services and technology to simplify how customers engage with health and wellness products and services across Amazon. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape how millions of customers discover, access, and engage with healthcare services and products on Amazon—ultimately transforming how people manage their health and wellness through technology. As an economist, you will partner with business teams to develop models that address critical challenges across the organization. Your work may include estimating demand systems for healthcare services, measuring how care delivery mechanisms affect utilization and quality outcomes, understanding customer decision-making around the convenience-cost-quality tradeoffs in primary care, and designing quasi-experiments to measure the causal impacts of pricing changes, product launches, and care delivery innovations. The problems are technically challenging, featuring information frictions, principal-agent dynamics, and regulatory complexity. However, you'll have access to proprietary data and robust engineering support to develop tractable, scalable solutions. Your analyses will inform strategic discussions with Leadership and directly influence go/no-go decisions that shape the future of healthcare at Amazon.
