About The Position
This position requires fieldwork and travel; supervision and training of lower-level staff, including Health Care Surveyors 1 and 2 (Nursing); participation in a range of surveillance activities, including but not limited to conducting complaint/incident investigations and on-site surveys of hospitals, ESRDs and other health care facilities to determine compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations; serves as part of a surveillance team, and may be responsible for the facilitation of surveillance team operations including: * Preparing offsite surveillance activities for the rest of the surveillance team prior to onsite entrance. This includes researching historical information about the facility, such as past survey trends, complaint allegations, facility reported incidents, and assigns responsibilities for each of the survey team members. * Leads the entrance and exit conferences with the facility. * Facilitates any high-level concerns with team members. * Organizes and reviews alleged areas of non-compliance once the survey is completed.
