About The Position

NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Senior Health Care Quality Improvement Specialist to participate on Northpoint's Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance (QI/QA) team. Under supervision of the QI/QA Manager, this role will assist internal and external customers in the areas of quality assessment and process improvement. These tasks will entail collection and visualization of data, monitoring key performance indicators, facilitating Patient Safety reporting, coordinating and implementing improvement projects, and educating/coaching internal leadership and front-line staff on improvement concepts and methods. This is a full-time, benefit-earning position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to the position, or graduation from an approved school of nursing, and three years or more of approved professional clinical, program planning and evaluation, or quality management experience.
  • Seven years or more of approved professional clinical, program planning and evaluation, or quality management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare accrediting agency standards for quality assessment.
  • Performance improvement principles, processes, and practices.
  • Measurement, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, data gathering, and interpretation.
  • Health care and data-related software such as electronic medical record systems (i.e. Epic), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and statistical analysis platforms (i.e., R and SPSS).
  • Experience establishing partnerships and productive working relationships within, and outside, the organization to identify gaps in care, determine goals and objectives and implement solutions.
  • Experience using performance improvement concepts and tools to optimize primary care workflows and processes.
  • Experience providing project and portfolio management support to ensure continued progress and sustainable results for improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading discussions and presenting to interdisciplinary audiences, including non-clinical staff, providers and administrative leadership.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to understand workflow, logistical dependencies, and identify process and outcome measures necessary to evaluate a program or clinical service.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with the QI/QA manager to define objectives, approach to data collection, and tools needed for the assessment of quality care and related process improvement opportunities.
  • Apply various process improvement tools (PDSA, A3s, value stream analysis, 5S, control charts, RCA, etc.) as dictated by scope of problem, available data and known needs.
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary workgroups and projects.
  • Design and implement services and care delivery processes that capture the voice of the customer and evidence-based practices to define value while demonstrating exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct analysis involving descriptive and inferential statistics.
  • Prepare and present complex concepts and project summary reports on methods, findings, implications, and recommendations.
  • Develop project management plans by breaking down work into actionable steps, schedules, deliverables and accountabilities.
  • Assist in the organization, collection, and distribution of NorthPoint Quality measures.
  • Track employee/provider level key performance indicators and targets for clinical and support services.
  • Partner with data analytics team to maintain, update and create data reporting tools.
  • Monitor and trend patient experience, employee engagement, patient safety and quality of care measures.
  • Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity & inclusion.
