About The Position
Health Care Coordinators perform professional work related to Medicaid program operations and auditing providers to ensure compliance with program policies and regulations. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy; Long Term Services and Supports Unit located in the Las Vegas Office. The incumbent performs duties under the 1915(i) program for Adult Day Health Care, Day Habilitation and Residential Habilitation services. Health Care Coordinators conduct program eligibility based on a needs-based assessment, develop person-centered plans of care, and determine prior authorization for services. Individuals in this position also identify resources in the community, follow up on reports of serious occurrences and ensure compliance with program policies as well as federal regulations. Program activities include field work, meeting with recipients and their families along with interacting with service providers. Travel is required 75% of the time.
