About The Position

The Health Care Assistant - Patient Access at Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is responsible for providing client care services, ensuring quality healthcare and excellent customer service. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Advanced technical training preferred.
  • Experience working in a health care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in medical assisting techniques and reproductive health preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving, judgment, organizational, and communication skills required.
  • Strong commitment to quality health care.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish, Nepali, or Somali for financial incentive program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clients with accurate information regarding PPGOH services, including contraception options and funding sources.
  • Respond to telephone calls by making appointments, providing information, and appropriate referrals.
  • Utilize the computerized client information system for appointment scheduling and entering client visit data.
  • Assist with schedule management activities including scrubbing schedules and completing confirmation calls.
  • Prepare and maintain patient medical records and ensure accurate records for patient registration and lab testing.
  • Orient patients on what to expect during their visit and conduct financial screenings.
  • Ensure accurate insurance information for proper billing of third-party insurance.
  • Collect client fees, manage balances, and perform closing procedures.
  • Provide appropriate and accurate patient education and information as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sensitivity when dealing with sexuality and sensitive issues with clients.
