Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, a non-profit provider of civil legal assistance to low-income persons in the Charlotte region, seeks a Health Benefits Resolution Specialist working under with the Advocacy Center's Family Support and Health Care Program. The Health Benefits Resolution Specialist Program assists North Carolina families by providing information on how to access and use Medicaid, educate families on their rights regarding Medicaid and other health-supporting benefits, and provide advocacy on these issues. This program helps individuals and families by providing answers to specific questions or concerns about their Medicaid and other health-supporting benefits. In addition to serving as a resource, the position advocates for people to get the care they need. The position works to connect Medicaid members to resources such as legal aid, social services, housing resources, food assistance and other programs. Lastly, the position monitors trends as to any issues that have been reported by members to help identify and resolve systemic problems. The Health Benefits Resolution Specialist Coordinator is responsible for providing additional assistance in developing the new Health Benefits Resolution Specialist program, outreach efforts, work with and support the other Health Benefits Resolution Specialists at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, Legal Aid of NC, and Pisgah Legal Services, lead efforts to expand reach of the program, engage with community partners and other stakeholders, assist to identify long-term funding for the program, and work with the legal team to identify systemic issues and develop solutions. The Health Benefits Resolution Specialist Coordinator will also handle their own caseload.
