About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Health and Wellness and supervision of Village providers and deans, Interns will help provide care to individual staff and villagers. If you love being outdoors, learning about new cultures and languages, helping others all over the world, and working with children, join us this summer! In the beautiful North Woods of Minnesota, we create a place that is both culturally authentic and uniquely our own. At the Language Villages, everything from the music played to the dishes used in the dining hall reflect the culture each was designed to represent. That’s where you come in! Our dedicated staff is essential to creating the unique, immersive experience our participants have come to love. Requirements

  • Completed at least one year of college
  • The ability to function in an outdoor setting with limited resources
  • The ability to use technology including electronic medical records system, email and virtual conferencing software
  • Affirmation to the commitment to the mission of Concordia Language Villages; and to diversity, equity, access and inclusion

Nice To Haves

  • Health Majors with clinical experience, experienced EMTs, and/or other healthcare experience
  • Two years' experience in a camp or youth-related environment
  • Foreign language ability highly encouraged
  • Camping experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Village providers (RNs, MDs) & Village Deans to provide for the healthcare needs of staff and villagers
  • Use an electronic medical records system to enter and maintain the health records of the Village
  • Transport patients to health care facilities as needed
  • Instruct villagers and staff in first-aid and health responsibilities
  • Interest in working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Attend weekly intern meetings and complete 2 short projects on culturally responsive care
  • Adapt to constantly changing environment with flexibility and a problem-solving style
