About The Position

The Health Services Director is a nurse and is responsible for coordinating resident care under the medical direction and supervision of the residents’ attending physicians in order to ensure the resident remains as independent as possible for as long as possible at a WellQuest Living community. Assist the resident and his or her family members in maintaining the physical and emotional health of the resident. As directed, liaison with hospital personnel, physicians, community organizations and other health related service agencies to provide care to the residents. Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements of the state and the policies and goals of this property. Assist the Assisted Living Director, Resident Services Director and/or Journey Program Director with hiring, evaluating, coordinating, monitoring performance, and supervising Care Managers in accordance with company policy. Share the responsibilities for the daily care of residents at the property with Care Managers. Reports to: Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Active LVN with significant leadership experience
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in: Senior living Assisted living Memory care Long-term care or skilled nursing
  • 2+ years of healthcare leadership or management experience
  • Proven experience with: Resident assessments and care planning Medication management and oversight Staff supervision, scheduling, and training Regulatory compliance and state surveys
  • Strong understanding of: Aging-related conditions and chronic disease management Infection control and risk management Medication administration systems
  • Knowledge of state regulations governing assisted living and senior care communities
  • Experience preparing for and managing state inspections and audits
  • Demonstrated ability to: Lead, coach, and develop nursing and care staff Build a culture of compassion, accountability, and excellence Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with: Residents Families Physicians and healthcare partners Community leadership
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Proficiency with: Electronic health records (EHR) Medication management systems Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Ability to manage budgets, staffing levels, and departmental metrics
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and empathy
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
  • Passion for serving older adults and promoting quality of life
